Ramesses II, the Great Journey

3,200 years ago, Egypt is living the final hours of its golden age under the reign of Ramesses II. After ruling the country for 67 years, the great pharaoh dies at the old age of 92. His mummy is burried in the heart of the Valley of the Kings. This is the beginning of his great journey towards the afterlife but only under one condition: that his tomb remains off limits forever. However, in the 19th century, many European adventurers explore the tomb of the king searching for the burial chamber. Then begins an archeological investigation, which reveals the story of Ramesses II after-life.

Maged, Hisham and Medhat are three friends. Medhat succeeds in finding work at a (tourist resort) in Sinai while Maged fails to (get together) with his neighbor and sweetheart Sabreen. He resorts to his friend Medhat and asks him to help him find work at the (tourist resort) where he is employed. Maged saves the life of an elderly American tourist and this event helps him find work alongside Medhat. However, (an incident occurs) where he flirts with Nesreen, the daughter of the (tourist resort’s) owner. He is subsequently fired from his new job. Upon her return to her country, the elderly American tourist dies and it is revealed that (her faith was Jewish). (Her will stipulates that Maged should receive a third of (?) which is valued at 155 million dollars.) However a condition is placed specifying that Maged must agree to (supervise an attempt to intercede on behalf of Israeli interests.)

The biblical tale of Joseph is told from an Egyptian perspective in this interesting character study. In this film, Joseph is called Ram. Ram, tired of his family's backward superstitious life, and tired of being picked on by his brothers, wants to go to Egypt to study agriculture. His brothers travel with him across Sinai, but then suddenly sell him to Ozir, an Egyptian who works for a Theban military leader, Amihar. Amihar is impressed by Ram's drive and personal charm and so grants Ram some desolate land outside the capital. Ram soon finds himself a pawn in the political and sexual games between Amihar and his wife Simihit, a high priestess of the Cult of Amun.
