Two rival companies take it too far when one side attacks Mr. Abbas, the owner of the other company. In a hopeless move, he hires a very famous thug / fighter for protection: Sahin, nicknamed "Deli" (Mad). Sahin's reputation is so intimidating that the news of him being hired causes a distress in Mr. Abbas's rivals, even before he appears in town. Things are looking up for Mr. Abbas. However, the welcome committee waiting for Sahin's arrival are shocked and disappointed at what they see: He's a bum who can hardly stand, with a bottle in his hand at all times instead of a gun. Selma, a wealthy woman, is taken to hospital following what looks like a car breakdown on the road. From then on, she suffers from psychological problems. Selma crashes her car on a rainy night, and car mechanic Orhan finds her, and takes her to the hospital. She becomes enamored with him. But as Selma recalls further details of the accident, she realizes that the real rescuer is a gypsy musician named Ekrem. Selma begins to lead two separate lives, torn between Ekrem and Orhan.

The Sultan orders the army leader, along with two others, to proceed to Byzantine for espionage purposes. There, they contact a couple sympathetic to the Turkish cause and, with their home as the base, gather information about the city's defenses. The Byzantines capture the couple and two of the Turks, leaving only the army leader to escape with the vital information. The Turks use it to make an easy conquest, ending the Roman empire, and creating the Ottoman empire.
