Set in early-1980s Spain. It follows Adolfo and Lola, a couple who, in the wake of an abortion, decides to adopt two creepy orphan twin siblings strictly educated under ultra-Catholic dogmas in a convent.

Cruz is a grandma who's spent years, decades actually, without having an orgasm. In Seville, Juan is starting to enjoy his weekends outside of prison when tragedy strikes: his little girl is killed in what looks like an accident.

A small village in Huelva, Andalusia, Spain, 1936. Higinio and Rosa have been married only for a few months when the Civil War breaks out. Higinio, being afraid of possible reprisals from the rebel faction, decides to use a hole dug in his own house as a temporary hideout.

But one fine day he will get a working offer his agent will not let him pass: to be companion of a 5 years old boy in a costume contest at the Amusement Park.

The Spanish journalist Manuel Chaves Nogales (1897-1944) was wherever the news was: in the fratricidal Spain of 1936, in Bolshevik Russia, in fascist Italy, in Nazi Germany, in a threatened Paris or in the bombed London of World War II; because his job was to walk and tell stories and fight against totalitarianisms, in a time when it was necessary to take sides in order not to be left alone. But he, with integrity, never did.
