El Circo de Price llevaba casi un siglo funcionando en la Plaza del Rey de Madrid cuando el desarrollismo galopante de España lo abocó a la demolición. Antonio Mercero rodó las últimas funciones que allí se dieron y escarbó en el archivo del noticiario oficial No-Do para rendir homenaje a cuantos artistas pasaron por su pista (Ramper, Charlie Rivel, Los Codona...) y a los trabajadores a los que no baña la luz de los focos.

Poppy Valentine, a young circus performer who has grown up in her family's traveling circus, has never dreamed of what life would be like outside of its fences. However, now in her mid-20s and with more unwelcomed responsibility weighing her down, she's desperate to figure out if this life is for her. As she slowly begins to take time for herself, finding independence and even love, she strains her relationship with those around her in the tight-knit circus community. In the end, amidst her overprotective father, stressful circus expectations, and her blossoming curiosity for a life of her own, she must find a way to be happy.

They fall in love and when he loses his job, the young lovers journey across France finding odd jobs at several circuses. In Germany, they fall under the tutelage of ageing big cat trainer, Klint, and while they are closer to realising their dreams, they find that their success drivers them part.

La trouppe circense ha crecido desde la última aventura, pero no teman, Damen Ula, la encantadora de serpientes del circo sigue en el mismo, fuerte e indomable como siempre; la susodicha rápidamente ha olvidado su affair con el funambulista y gracias a sus encantos, consigue que un domador de osos que pasaba cerca del circo, se sienta atraído por la misma. Secuela de la película "El circo volador", dirigida por el propio Alfred Lind en 1912.

La vida del payaso Riquet y su esposa, la bailarina Ralda, se ve amenazada por el propietario del circo donde trabajan, que desea a la joven y no dudará en intentar asesinarla cuando ésta lo rechaza.

Un ambicioso artísta circense provocará la desgracia de sus familiares.
