Joined by a reticent driver who cannot drive, they set out to locate the legendary Swearing Ofu Hodja, a saintly and foul-mouthed imam with supernatural powers who works miracles, supports nuclear fusion, and condemns all kinds of authority. The team tumbles through a series of misadventures brought on them by the mysterious hodja, changing their lives forever in this war between matter and meaning.

It is a story about a certain tragicomic relationship between an abstract sculpture name 'Chaos'-which finds itself in a fringe suburb-and the people who live there. A considerable portion of the art-themed movies made around the world often takes place in an intellectual atmosphere. These works are hence movies that reflect the theoretical 'high' art debate the elites deal with. Our movie rather depicts the warm relation between a surreal sculpture and those who live in slums and outskirts. In other words, it is the story of understanding and benefiting as much as possible fro 'Chaos' by those who see and render the world through their own dim window, who try to save the day with their ordinary calculations.

Director Hasan Karacadag argues that he tried to create a model of a Turkish-Islamic horror film and that he would make the world recognize this model, of which he sees "Semum" as the first example. "Semum" stars Ayça inci, Burak Hakki and Cem Kurtoglu in the lead roles and recounts the true story of a woman who lives in Izmir. "Semum" will be compared with "The Exorcist" and inci will be compared with Linda Blair, the director says, noting that the Turkish horror films made so far have been far from satisfactory.
