My Father’s Bones is the tragicomic story of a man who left his own village when he was a teenager because of an unpleasant incident. He swears never to return to his village. But one day he has to take a trip to his village to get his father’s bones to fulfill his mother’s last will.
The movie is about the legendary Turkish "soul singer" Müslüm Gürses. Born into a poor family, Muslum found his redemption in music from the initial trauma that lingered over his musical and personal life as internalizing the grief. He rose through his ashes of shattered dreams like a phoenix. He walked in darkness, sang songs filled with sorrow which stirred people's souls and created a cult following. They were calling him "Baba" (The Father).
After his pregnant wife killed by thinner addicts, Ersin Balkan, decides on to establish a school for children who are abandoned ad thinner addicts. Noticing that he can not afford a such thing with his salary, takes a new career and becomes a singer.
Nimet, who cannot have children, is constantly under the social pressure of not being able to start a family. Upon learning that her beloved younger sister Öznur is fertile, she starts developing envious thoughts.
