Martín Villanueva, a former governor, was publicly charged with the crime of laundering money to finance the presidential campaign of his party's candidate. Unos potentados ajustan cuentas a tiros y unas balas perdidas matan a la esposa y al hijo del afinador de pianos Lorenzo, que entonces persigue al asesino. Para vengarse el afinador se alía con un sepulturero y finge afinar el piano de su enemigo, pero mientras lo hace se relaciona con la hija y la mujer del tipo. Ésta se vuelve su cómplice y ambos se enamoran, lo que impide al afinador cumplir su plan.
