El último día del noviembre negro de 1985 ocurre la muerte violenta de su madre en Medellín. Ese mes ocurrió en Bogotá la toma guerrillera y posterior holocausto en el palacio de justicia, seguida de la avalancha que borró del mapa el pueblo de Armero, “como a Pompeya hace 2000 años”. Transcurridos 15 años el director emprende una correría para reelaborar la memoria materna, con su padre y sus 6 hermanos que están dispersos en Colombia y otros países. Este viaje deparará variadas sorpresas.
