Burroughs takes down a book and reads us the story of Danny the Carwiper, who spends Christmas Day trying to score a fix, but finds the Christmas spirit instead.

The film is centered on two men in a bathtub; it is implied that they are veterans of some past conflict. The first man is paranoid about the drain of the tub, the second indifferent to it. As the conversation between the two men progresses, a vine-like tendril emerges from the drain…

This hand-painted work is easily the most minutely detailed ever given to me to do, for it traces (as best I'm able) the hypnagogic after-effect of psychological cathexis as designed by Freud in his first (and unfinished) book on the subject - "Toward a Scientific Psychology." (SB)
