A man gets depressed because his girlfriend has dumped him for a friend. He tries to attempt suicide but to no avail, so he decides to scare the guy that stole his girl, by throwing his own guts at him.
100年戦争が続く戦乱の世。家族も友もいない孤独な剣士ガッツは、傭兵として戦地を渡り歩く日々。傭兵集団“鷹の団”を率いるグリフィスは、そんなガッツの強さに目を付け、決闘で彼を制して鷹の団に引き入れる。ガッツは数々の戦闘で圧倒的な強さを見せるとともに、次第に仲間たちやグリフィスとの絆を強めていく。そんな中、鷹の団唯一の女剣士キャスカだけは、ガッツとことあるごとに衝突を繰り返していた。やがて、鷹の団はミッドランド王国の正規軍にまでのし上がっていくのだが…。
