今は昔、竹取の翁が見つけた光り輝く竹の中からかわいらしい女の子が現れ、翁は媼と共に大切に育てることに。女の子は瞬く間に美しい娘に成長しかぐや姫と名付けられ、うわさを聞き付けた男たちが求婚してくるようになる。彼らに無理難題を突き付け次々と振ったかぐや姫は、やがて月を見ては物思いにふけるようになり……。

An orphaned teenager forms an unlikely friendship with a detective. Together they investigate her mother's murder, and uncover the supernatural force that proves to be a threat to her family.

16歳の遥は幼くして母親を亡くし、父親と二人で暮らしているが、最近は父とも口げんかばかりしていた。ある日、彼女は母親の形見の大事な手鏡をなくしてしまい、こっそり神社に願掛けに行く。そこにひょっこりとキツネのお面をかぶったテオが現れ、人がほったらかしにしたものをこっそり運び出すのを発見した彼女は、その後を追いかけて見知らぬ島へとたどり着く。

母の再婚を機に、血のつながらない兄・夕哉とひとつ屋根の下で暮らすことになった神前美月。ある日、美月の前に自分を幽霊だという謎の少女・日和が現れて、彼女に憑依された上に下半身に貞操帯をはめられる。日和を成仏させ、貞操帯を取り外すためには、彼女が憧れていたという夕哉と恋仲にならなければいけないと知った美月。嫌がる彼女だったが、夕哉を狙っている女性が登場したのをきっかけに、自分でも思いも寄らなかった気持ちの変化を感じ取っていく。

サヨコ（市川実日子）は、都会の片隅にある平屋の一軒家で数えきれないほどの猫たちと一緒に暮らしている。幼いころから人間よりも猫に好かれる子どもだった彼女の状況は今も変わらず、サヨコは占い師などの数ある肩書とは別にある仕事をやっていた。それは寂しい人に猫を貸し出す「レンタネコ」という一風変わった商売で……。

Yuki lives at home in peace until one day a unit of assassins breaks in and kill her mother. In order to revenge herself Yuki becomes a demon of vengeance by donning gothic lolita clothing, using a parasol as a deadly weapon, and executing the guilty in God's name.

Charming LA architect Harrison, also a great cook and lover, gets engaged to Cate, a San Francisco landscape architect he meets while collaborating on a major project, after they get locked in by a malfunctioning elevator. A doctor develops a new scientific breakthrough in female psychotherapy with the discovery of the “Dream Ring,” a device that is inserted into a woman to record her thoughts and dreams. But, one dark and stormy night, the doctor and his assistant end up dead… hanging by ropes from the rafters of their lab. The lovely Reiko suffers from a condition known as “genophobia” (the fear of sexual intercourse), so she is admitted to the Tachibana Clinic for observation. Another group of doctors have the “Dream Ring” device and use it on Reiko to analyze her wildly erotic, and violent, dreams and nightmares. The clinic doctors have more sinister reasons to test this device on Reiko, however, and secretly put her under hypnosis so that the ring is activated at any time she hears the sound of a bell. Can she escape the evil doctors’ experiment and, even if she does, who is that strange person, dressed all in black, following her around?

One rainy night in the Edo period, Kotono (a geisha) confronts samurais who killed her father. The samurais attack her one after another, but she fights hard against samurais with her sword. Kotono tries to chase the samurais who scramble to escape. Yet now three ninjas stand up against her. Kotono drops her sword by their wave of assaults. Can she beat them?

This prequel is the third and final OVA released after the conclusion of MAISON IKKOKU, an animated series based on the manga by Rumiko Takahashi. The past events are retold through flashback sequences using scenes from the television series, with narration by Sumi Shimamoto as Kyoko.

In Southeast Asia, armed guerillas storm a party being hosted by a major Japanese trading company. They kidnap Eri Enomoto (Rika Uesugi), the director's daughter, and demand a huge ransom. But company infighting stalls plans to comply with the kidnappers, and Eri's father collapses from the strain. When Eri's childhood friend, Miki (Natsuki Katoh), learns of the kidnapping and the company's reluctance to save her friend, she decides to try and rescue Eri on her own.
