Based on a novel of the same name by the Finnish author, Antti Tuuri, this delicious late-80's comedy builds its dark humour on the stereotypical mentality of the northern part of Finland. While perhaps not as entertaining to a person unfamiliar with Finnish traditions, the brilliant acting, directing, plus the warm, beautiful Finnish summer more than make up for the cultural gap.The story begins with a group of brothers with their families coming up to honour the memory of their recently deceased father. Spending time together, opening old wounds and creating new ones... it all boils down to brotherhood. No matter what happens, brothers take care of their own.

Irma Auer (Satu Silvo) is a former call-girl, trying to distance herself from the past. In a séance she is told to be 'marked for death', and is afterward threatened by her former pimp and abandoned by her groom, as he learns about her past. Irma attempts to commit suicide, and resurrects at the city morgue after being pronounced dead. After the incident, she wanders out direction-less, being pursued by the doctor who treated her and also a strange, tall man.

A self-ironic satire about director Donner's scandalous fame in late 1960s Finland, notorious for a graphic long shot of his penis pointing northeast.

Tuula's husband Jukka takes care of all domestic chores. Tuula seems to have no idea that her husband spends his evenings working as a major league ice hockey referee. She also finds out about his extra-marital affair with a female rally driver. In revenge, Tuula starts seeing her gynecologist Timo Paasi, a married man with six children.

In the year 2011, historian Raimo Lappalainen wants to illustrate how life was 50 years earlier. He becomes obsessed with the fate of a 1970s nude model, Saara Turunen, and finds a perfect actress to reconstruct her life and death in front of a TV camera. Reiska who has moved to Helsinki from the country starts working as an errand boy in Sweden and Denmark for Lehto, a leader of a criminal league. Reiska's friend from school, Lea, who dreams of being a singer, drifts under Lehto's influence as well.

A TV movie based on the short story of the same name by Mika Waltari.

An author writes a book about witch persecution and is accused of blasphemy. Maunu Kurkvaara's film has been inspired by the blasphemy trial against the author Hannu Salamaa and Markku Lahtela's novel. The author (Pekka Haukinen) has written a historical novel about witch hunts and has been charged with blasphemy.

A film in two episodes. The first, "Juulia", is a young woman's stylish reminiscence of her brief summer romance, set in some of the most chic design locations around Helsinki. The second episode "Tikku", a seemingly semi-improvised comedy, takes an overworked housewife, her three children and her lazy husband out of the city to spend the weekend at the mother-in-law's.

"Harbour Girls" - A journalist is reporting on prostitutes active in the harbor area. He falls in love with the beautiful and different Vuokko.

A drama film set in Christmas time Helsinki, the main character of which is Ritva Hakala (Sinikka Hannula), the single parent of a little boy working in the office. While Ritva talks lightly about men and her future plans with other women at the office and coffees, she has to avoid her jealous and violent ex-husband (Kai Lind), who threatens a relationship with her new male friend Kale (Ossi Ahlapuro).

Lieutenant Takala meets his fellow partisans of 20th division many year after the war. With flashbacks we see the events of summer 1944.

Surgeon Niilo Leino finds out that his former fellow student suffering from fears and insecurity is hired as his colleague. Leino tries to give him opportunities to show his ability but it occurs he hasn't escaped from his fears.
