Crítico de cinema desde 1994, colaborou com publicações nacionais como MovieStar, Sci-Fi News, Sci-Fi Cinema, Replicante e a SET. Em 2002, tornou-se o único membro latino-americano a fazer parte da prestigiada Online Film Critics Society. Publicou colunas em inglês no site Hollywood Elsewhere e atualmente colabora com o renomado Movie City News, além de ser o único brasileiro a ser citado pelo Rotten Tomatoes, o mais famoso portal de críticas da Internet. Em 2005, lançou seu primeiro livro, "O Cinema além das Montanhas", biografia do cineasta Helvécio Ratton. Em 2001, venceu o prêmio teatral SESC-SATED de Melhor Texto Adaptado. Também foi apresentador e roteirista do programa Cinema em Cena, que foi ao ar durante dois anos pela TV Horizonte. Atualmente, além de editor do Cinema em Cena (o qual criou em 1997), é também professor de Linguagem e Crítica Cinematográficas em curso ministrado em mais de dez cidades ao longo de 22 edições. Em 2007, foi o único profissional estrangeiro, entre 15 convidados, a participar em Nova York de um seminário sobre Crítica promovido pelo jornal The New York Times e pelo Museum of the Moving Image. Em 2008, dirigiu seu primeiro filme, o curta-metragem A_Ética, que marcou o lançamento da Cinema em Cena Produções. Em 2009, atuou temporariamente em Los Angeles, atendendo a convite especial, como diretor do International Film Institute.

With script and direction by Pablo Villaça and starring the comedian Geraldo Magela, Morte Cega has as main character a failed filmmaker named Francis (Maurício Canguçu, producer and one of the main actors of the theatrical success "Believe, a Spirit Downloaded Me"). One night, Francis has a frightening dream about Magela, known throughout the country for playing the character O Ceguinho. Determined to make a short film based on this dream, Francis uses his producer friend, Martinho (Carlos Magno Ribeiro, who acted in Villaça's first short, A_ética), to get to the comedian. From then on, the meeting brings unexpected results for everyone involved.
