In the evening, Sasadhar Bose comes to Feluda's hotel and informs him that the man who fell down the cliff in the accident, was his partner Shivkumar Shelvankar, who was also the owner of the company. Sasadhar Bose walks out of the hotel to find a flight to Bombay the next day.

Dev goes back to India and Rimi joins him later.

The film deals with the supernatural and starts with the death of a criminal (Mantra Shiba ) in a shoot out . Before dying, through his supernatural powers, he implants his spirit into the body of a talking doll. This talking doll is stolen and sold at a cheaper price to a young working widowed woman, who buys it for her young son as a birthday gift .

Underlying the strands of all of these stories, is the legend of a treasure hidden in the Raja's palace. Birchandra is least concerned about this but there are certain other characters who are out to steal it.
