2015年。トルコのディヤルバクルでは、トルコからの分離独立を求める反政府運動が活発に行なわれていた。兄弟を過激派組織“イスラム国”に殺された女学生ジランは故郷である町ディヤルバクルに帰るが、クルド人がトルコの軍や警察によって迫害されている事態を目の当たりにする。そんな悲惨な状況を見てジランは反政府組織のゲリラ活動に加わるが、兵士の数も兵器の量も圧倒的に多いトルコ側によって苦戦を強いられ続け……。
