Dennis is known for playing Leo "Craterface" Balmudo, the Scorpions' gang leader in Grease (1978), and reprised the role in Grease 2 (1982). He also appeared as a dancer in Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

On the TV special she performed show tunes and comedy bits alongside comic legend George Burns, teen idol Shaun Cassidy, television star John Ritter and even the Harlem Globetrotters joined her on the show. The special later went on to be nominated for a primetime Emmy Award.
