九州の静かな町で暮らす17歳の少女・鈴芽（すずめ）は、「扉を探してるんだ」という旅の青年・草太に出会う。彼の後を追って迷い込んだ山中の廃墟で見つけたのは、ぽつんとたたずむ古ぼけた扉。なにかに引き寄せられるように、すずめは扉に手を伸ばすが…。 扉の向こう側からは災いが訪れてしまうため、草太は扉を閉めて鍵をかける“閉じ師”として旅を続けているという。

In June 2007, when he was two years old at the Kabuki-za theatre, he played the chivalrous Harusamegasa in his first appearance under his real name 'Fujimasai'. Koshiro Matsumoto IX says he started jumping around in the middle of the day and was made to study without knowing he wanted to play Benkei Rokkata By the age of four, he had become Kintaro Matsumoto IV and is now Somegoro Ichikawa VIII. The film presents 10 years of close-up footage.

Documentary programme closely following the simultaneous one-year succession of three generations of the prestigious Koraiya theatre. Koshiro IX and Shiro Matsumoto II, Somegoro VII and Koshiro Matsumoto X, and Kintaro IV and Somegoro Ichikawa VIII performed the succession on 2 January 2008 at the Kabuki-za theatre in Tokyo. The film follows the unwavering transmission of the art of father and grandson. Testimony from Koshiro X's sister, Noriyasu Matsumoto, and younger sister, Takako Matsu. Also features family ties and rare glimpses of Koshiro away from the stage. An insight into the amazing feat of three generations of Kabuki actors who assumed the name simultaneously, a rarity in the 400-year history of the Kabuki theatre.

江戸時代末期。将軍・家慶の弟で明石藩主・松平斉韶（なりつぐ）の暴君ぶりは目に余った。斉韶は近く、老中への就任も決まっている男。幕府の存亡に危機感を募らせる老中・土井利位は、かねてより良く知る御目付・島田新左衛門に斉韶暗殺の密命を下す。さっそく、甥の新六郎をはじめ十一人の腕に覚えある男たちを集めた新左衛門は、後に加わる山の民・木賀小弥太を含む総勢十三人の暗殺部隊を組織、入念な計画を練り上げていく。しかし、斉韶の腹心・鬼頭半兵衛もまたその動きを抜け目なく察知し、大切な殿を守り抜くべく周到な準備を進めていた。

東京地検城西支部に再び戻った久利生は、ある傷害致死事件の裁判を任されるが、容疑者が初公判で犯行を全面否認、無罪を主張したために思わぬ事態を迎えてしまう。被告側の弁護士・蒲生は“刑事事件無罪獲得数日本一”の超ヤリ手。さらに事件の背後には、大物政治家の花岡練三郎が糸を引いていることを突き止める。

天正19年、時の権力者・豊臣秀吉の命により自刃した千利休に代わって、利休の高弟だった古田織部が秀吉の茶頭を務めることに。加賀の大名・前田利家の娘として生まれ、秀吉の養女となった豪姫は、織部を“オジイ”と呼んで天衣無縫に振る舞うおてんば娘。京都の河原に利休の生首がさらしものとなっていたことに憤った彼女は、その生首を奪い去るが、彼女の忠実な部下たる青年のウスは、騒ぎの責任を取って都を離れることとなる。

戦国時代にあって、お茶の道を追究し続けた千利休。そんな美と知の体現者・利休と、絶大な権力を持ちながらも粗野で利休とは対極にある秀吉の確執を描く。映画に登場する生花はすべて、自身も華道・草月流の家元である勅使河原監督の手による。利休を演じた三國連太郎と秀吉を演じた山崎努の対照的な演技のぶつかり合いもみどころ。また、同時期に公開された「千利休　本覺坊遺文」との“利休対決”も話題となった。

松竹が大船撮影所50周年を記念して、昭和初期の蒲田撮影所を舞台に、映画作りに情熱を燃やす人々の姿をオールスターキャストで描いた作品。浅草の活動小屋で売り子をしていた小春は、松竹の監督に見出されて蒲田撮影所の大部屋女優となる。初めて見る撮影所での体験は何もかもが新鮮だった。

As Japan joins in a political pact with Nazi Germany and fascist Italy, Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto is appointed supreme commander of the Japanese fleet. With Japan headed inexorably toward war, Yamamoto, despite his misgivings, believes the only possible victory lies in destroying the American fleet by surprise at Pearl Harbor. Set at the end of the Siege of Osaka this film follows the exploits of several members of the defeated Toyotomi clan as they cope with the post battle chaos and the persecution of the Shogun's army. Five samurai decide on different fates when it becomes clear that their side is being destroyed. One wants to attack the enemy head on in a final honorable death. Another decides to commit hari-kiri but wants to find a glorious view to do it. His close friend, the "coward", just wants to run and give up the life of a samurai. The final two set their own castle on fire to garner favors from the enemy and therefore avert their own death during the massacre of all defeated soldiers as

This Japanese action-adventure is set in the 17th century when all forms of swordplay were banned. One fighter, an excellent swordsman believes the law is unfair. His brother keeps his opinions about the law to himself. The swordsman vents his frustration by cutting off the thumbs of an enemy. The fighter is then banished. To live, he becomes a thief. To restore the family's lost honor, the other brother is forced to challenge the fighter to a duel.
