アパートメントで起こったウイルス流出事件ただ一人の生存者であるTVリポーターのアンヘラは、海上に浮かぶ大型貨物船で目覚めた。そこは謎のウイルスを研究する医師リカルテの極秘施設で、彼はアンヘラを保菌者と疑い、隔離していたのだ。ショックから事件の記憶を失い、状況に戸惑うアンヘラだったが、自らの身の危険を察知し施設からの脱出を試みる。そんななか、突如、船内でウイルスが拡散する非常事態が勃発。アンヘラはリカルテたちに追われながらも、感染拡大を食い止めるべく、凶暴化した感染者たちとの死闘に挑んでいく…。

テレビのドキュメンタリー番組を制作中の女性レポーター・アンヘラは、通報を受けた消防隊に同行してとあるアパートを訪れる。そこには血まみれになって立ちつくす1人の老婆がいた。老婆は駆けつけた警察官を突然襲いはじめ……。閉ざされたアパートの中で想像を絶する恐怖に見舞われる人々の姿を、手持ちカメラ目線によるドキュメンタリー・タッチの映像で描き出し、本国スペインで大ブームを巻き起こしたパニック・ホラー。

The mutilated body of a six year old girl is found in a water hole. The girl is identified as the missing daughter of Claudia. However, only two peices of evidence could be used to identify her; a bracelet with her name on it near the crime scene, and the fact that her right leg was three inches longer than her left. All other methods of identification were removed from her body. Five years later Claudia, now addicted to tranquilizers, receives a phone call from someone claiming to be her daughter, asking for her mother to come find her before 'they' kill her. Other mysterious clues show up, further indicating that Claudia's daughter is indeed still alive, and very much in danger.
