The Green Valley is a short film that explores the connection between politics, art and daily life in a multicultural neighborhood in Oslo. The film is inspired by three real events that took place in the director's neighborhood.

In 1973 Roberto Saldivar was arrested and imprisoned in an old Salpetermine in northern Chile. The mine was used as concentrationcamp for political prisoners. 20 years later he returned to confront his memories. He has lived there since. Alone.

He discovers that she has quit school without telling him and that she has lost all contact with her old friends. She has become a complete stranger.

Much against their will, a friendship slowly develops. But Marja harbors a secret, and when the truth emerges their friendship is put to the test. Their stay on Gotland takes an unexpected turn...
