베트남의 대도시 하노이. 23살의 리엔은 배우인 오빠와 함께 살면서 큰언니 수옹의 가게에서 일한다. 수옹의 남편 콕은 사진작가이며 작업을 위해 자주 여행을 떠나고, 둘째인 칸의 남편은 집에서 글을 쓰며 책을 준비한다. 어머니의 기일에 모여 식사를 준비하는 세 자매의 평화로운 모습처럼 그들은 든든한 가족애와 서로에 대한 신뢰로 충만되어 있는 것 같다. 그러나 뜨거운 햇살에 갈라지는 대지와 같이 그들의 관계와 내면에는 미묘한 균열이 있다. 리엔은 오빠 같은 남자와 결혼하고 싶다고 공공연히 말하고, 큰언니 부부는 각자 애인을 가지고 있지만 파경이 두려워 밝히지 못한다.

The film tells the story of My Nhung aka Cam Huong, a famous singer. My Nhung was found dead in her apartment by one of her friends. Captain Quoc was in charge of the investigation. Through the testimony of three suspects: Thien - her first boyfriend, Xuyen - an one-time lover and Dung - her fiance, captain Quoc found out secrets about her past and solved the mystery of her death."
