매(매염방 분)는 성(주성치 분)의 누나로 일종의 초능력을 타고난 여자다. 자신에게도 초능력은 있었지만 누나 만큼은 강력하지 못한데 불만을 품은 성은 자신의 초능력을 활용해서 도박계에 몸을 던진다. 동생의 소식을 들은 매는 홍콩으로 간다. 홍콩에 나온 매는 동생의 소식을 듣기는 했지만 성은 마침 홍콩에 없었고 성이 일하는 조직의 두목을 만난다. 매가 나타날 무렵 홍의 도박장은 유명한 직업적인 도박사의 도전을 받았으나, 성이 없어 거기 응하지 못하고 있었던터라 성에게서 듣던 초능력의 매를 환영하면서, 성을 대신해서 패와의 대전을 부탁한다. 매는 일언지하에 이를 거절한다. 조직의 가부 삼숙(오맹달 분)은 매 대신 자신이 키워오던 도박사 패(정유령 분)를 내세울 것을 제안한다.

사물을 꽤뚫어보는 신통력을 지닌 성은 삼촌을 찾아 중국에서 홍콩으로 온다. 삼촌은 그의 신통력을 훈련시켜 카지노에서 돈을 따고, 성은 일약 유명해진다. 한편 홍콩에서 세계도박사들이 모이는 대회가 열리자 각파의 갱단들이 서로 성을 자기편에 끌어들이려고 혈안이 된다. 성은 대만에서 온 이몽을 보고 사랑에 빠져 대만갱과 계약을 한다. 그러나 겨드랑이에 점이있다는 사실만 알 뿐 그는 이몽이 어디있는지 알 수가 없다. 이몽은 대만과 홍콩갱 사이의 이중스파이였던 것이다. 성은 국제도박대회에서 쉽게 결승에 오르지만 이몽에 대한 사랑을 이루지 못해 점점 신통력까지 잃어간다. 희망을 잃은 그는 중국으로 돌아가려고 가출을 하고 이몽은 납치된다. 우여곡절끝에 결승전에서 다시 나타난 성은 마지막대전에서 상대방보다 낮은 카드를 쥐고, 신통력도 아무힘을 발휘하지 못한다. 그 순간 성의 친구가 구출한 이몽이 나타나고,성은 다시 정신을 집중해 신통력을 얻는다.
