남자는 67세였고 여자는 62세였다. 두 사람은 부부였고 고난에 찬 한 많은 40년을 함께 살아왔다. 슬하에 1남2녀를 열심히 키우고 가르쳐 성가시켰지만 자식하나는 죽고, 하나는 부모를 버린채 이민가고, 하나는 가출하였다. 그러나 그들은 한번도 자식을 원망한 적이 없었다. 남자는 원스타장군으로서 평생을 군인으로 조국에 봉사했지만 정치군인에 희생되어 생존권을 박탈당하고 말년을 비참하게 살아가고 있었다. 그들 노부부의 유일한 보금자리인 달동네의 집마저 가출한 아들의 부도로 차압딱지가 붙어 떠나지 않으면 안 되었다. 돈이 없어 따로따로 흩어져 비극적인 생이별을 같이 아파하며 양로원에 들어가게 되었다. 낯설은 양로원에서도 따뜻한 편지를 오가면서 평생 느꼈던 정이외에 새로운 정으로 기뻐하던 두 노인은 어느날 양로원 중간지점에서 만나기로 약속하고 만난다. 두 사람은 만나서 말없이 손잡고 있는것이 고작이지만 어쩌면 이번의 만남이 마지막이 될지 모른다는 생각을 지울 수 없었다. 일주일 뒤 마지막 만남을 한번 더 하기로 하고 그날 노부인이 먼저 나와 약속장소에서 기다렸지만 노인은 시간이 지나도 오지않았다.

Kanemoto served five years in prison for attacking Masao of the pro-North Korean organization, the killer of the president of the company who brought him up. Released from prison, Kanemoto gets injured fighting Masao again. Harumi, who lives with her brother Genichi, takes care of Kanemoto. When Genichi visits Korea and reveals the pro-North Korean organization's lies, he becomes their target. This also places the life of Harumi and their family at risk and only Kanemoto can save them.

임금자리에 오른 연산군은 당파의 모함으로 폐비가 되었을 뿐만 아니라 사약까지 받고 억울하게 세상을 떠난 폐비 윤씨의 소생이다. 그는 원한에 사무친 생모의 억울함을 풀어주려고 다시 복위를 시키려 하다 중신들의 거센 반발에 부딪힌다. 그러자 성격이 더없이 거칠어진 연산은 정적을 치려는 유자광 등의 꼬임으로 무오사화를 일으켜 사림선비들을 없애는가 하면 생모에게 사약을 내리는데 거들었던 중신과 궁녀들을 모조리 죽이는 갑자사화를 일으키고 그도 모자라 왕비를 헐뜯는 한글로 된 투서가 있었다 하여 언문구결을 태우고 언문교습을 못하게 한다. 이렇게 피를 보게된 연산은 그 스스로가 한 나라의 임금이라는 지체까지도 잊어버리고 원각사에 장악원을 두어 기녀를 길러내는가 하면 성균관의 유생까지 몰아낸 다음 그곳을 유흥장소로 삼아 날이 지샐 줄을 모르고 술과 여자에 빠져 끔찍한 행패를 부리는 등 제정신이 아닐만큼 돌아버리고 만다. 그의 이러한 미치광이속에는 언제나 사약을 받고 피를 토하며 억울하게 죽어간 생모 폐비 윤씨의 모습이 아른거려 그로 하여금 잠시도 마음을 가라앉히지 못하게 했던 것이다.

Jang-hwa's ghost appears in front of a district judge every night begging for clarification of their deaths. The district judge lets the stepmother confess the cause of Jang-hwa's death, and then punishes her. It clears all enmity.
