한때 미국을 떠들썩하게 만들었던 유명 방송인 타미 페이 배커(Tammy Faye Bakker)와 짐 배커(Jim Bakker) 부부의 실화를 그린 영화다. 물론 제목에서 알 수 있듯이 타미 페이에게 좀 더 초점이 맞춰져 있다. 1970년대 기독교 방송 네트워크를 설립한 부부는 직접 프로그램에 출연하며 인기와 명성을 쌓았는데 흥망성쇠를 거친 뒤 1992년 전격 이혼했고 그 후 타미 페이는 재혼해 살다가 암으로 세상을 떠났다.

이 영화는 NAACP Image Award 수상자인 배우 클립톤 포웰과 델린 테리가 주연을 맡았다. 영화의 부제목은 ‘실망하고, 잊혀지고, 고립되고, 고갈된’ 이다. 영화의 시놉시스는 “이 영화는 가족의 갑작스러운 죽음을 겪은 이후 삶이 요동치는, 아주 다른 세계에서 살아온 두 사람을 따라간다. 이들은 하나님을 의심하지만 뜻 밖의 길에서 계속 찾고 있던 믿음을 발견하게 된다”고 전하고 있다. 예고편에는 픽업 트럭에서 사진을 들고 슬퍼하는 등 절망 속에 있는 파웰의 모습이 나온다. 영화는 러브 라이프 엔터테인먼트(Luv Life Entertainment)이 제작했다. 수상 경력이 있는 이 기독교 연예기획사는 영감을 주는 코미디 영화를 제작하고 있다.
