Meanwhile in a remote Polish village, Alicia prepares to become a nun but, feeling home in nature, her reveries continually distract her from her religious path. Without stagnating in bitterness, The Ex-wife serves as a funhouse mirror reflecting this disturbing trait, which most of us can recognize, but which few dare to acknowledge
