Director Sunny Chan, the mastermind behind Hong Kong’s No. 1 comedy box officehit “Table for Six”, reunites the original cast and crew for three weddings, which humorously showcase the intricate relationships amongst the three couples within the Chan family. Belief in our own blessings can bring us good fortune, but what is true fortune? Fortune and misfortune, love and hate, what is their ultimate definitions? One family, three couples, three weddings. After they decided to move on, what further challenges await them? Marriage isn’t just about two individuals; it involves a whole family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. With wisecracks and scientific anecdotes, Takumi helps Mevius go through the stages of grief. During the decluttering process, Mevius embarks on a healing journey. NG Wing-sze, previously in award-winning short Conditioned (2015), feature films Septet: The Story of Hong Kong (2022) and Mad Fate (2023), plays Mevius and shares the screen with RubberBand lead vocal No.6 in this colourful romantic comedy.

The sky above Hong Kong is not just heavy with clouds and rain, it also contains astral signs and dark omens in this esoteric neo-noir. In a radical and counter-intuitive move, rather than having the characters’ trajectories converge towards the end, the plot instead knits their fates together from the start. Crossing paths at the scene of a heinous crime in a brothel are the serial killer perpetrator and the upstanding detective chasing him, but also a delivery boy obsessed with blood and knives and an occultist feng shui master who had predicted the victim’s gory fate without being able to prevent it.

It tells about a quiet afternoon when the Gurney Hotel suddenly detected a suspected case. The epidemic prevention center ordered a total blockade. All guests staying in the hotel must accept Mandatory quarantine for 14 days. Everyone is isolated in the hotel, and the relationship between people is getting closer unconsciously. Everyone has lived through difficult times together, and learned to cherish what may be the last time to get along with each other.
