Husband kicked her down the stairs, which causes her to abort. The ghost is evidently the aborted baby grown up. Back to the present day, hubby has teamed up with a new girl, and is trying to get back into the house and kidnap the boy ghost.

이홍은 수차례 미국 비자를 거절당했지만 끝내는 통과되어 미국으로 떠났다. 남생은 아이를 키우며 일을 하여 아홍이 진 빚을 갚아나가고 있었다. 시간이 지나자 이홍은 돌아오고 싶다고 했고 남생의 만류에 끝내는 이혼을 요구했다. 소식이 끊긴 이홍을 찾아 남생은 밀입국하고 그곳에서 제인이라는 여자를 알게 되었다. 그녀의 도움으로 이홍이 어떤 일을 겪었는지 알게 되고 우연한 기회에 만나게 된 두 사람은 해피엔딩인듯싶었으나 이홍은 남생을 알아보지 못한다.

능호서 일가는 미국행 이민 비자 받던날 밤, 큰딸 가가의 실수로 화제가 나서 죽었는데, 황천에서 미국에다 묘지를 구입할 돈을 구하도록 한 달의 휴가를 얻어온다. 막내딸 영영의 애인인 조득주에게 그들이 죽었다는 사실을 감추고 그들은 수단과 방법을 다해서 돈을 모으지만 떠날 날이 되자 그에 대한 미안함때문에 다시한번 죽는 연극을 한다. 그러나 오히려 조득주는 살인자로 몰리고 황천에서 돌아온 능씨일가에게서 그들이 귀신임을 듣고 절망한다. 3년뒤 능씨 일가는 현세와 내세를 자유롭게 오가며 조득주와 다시 만난다.
