Em 20 de janeiro de 1942, representantes de alto escalão do regime nazista alemão se reuniram em uma idílica vila no Great Wannsee, no sudoeste de Berlim, para uma reunião que ficou para a história como a Conferência de Wannsee, por causa de seu alcance, fatalidade e consequências, talvez a conferência mais terrível da história humana. Eles foram convidados por Reinhard Heydrich, chefe da polícia de segurança nazista, para planejar o assassinato em massa sistemático de milhões de judeus em toda a Europa.

In the morning after a wild marriage between two police officers Franz Eberhofer finds himself woken from heavy-armed special forces, who arrest him because of suspected murder. His boss, inspector Barschl, was found dead, killed by Franz' knife in his back - furthermore he and Franz were known in the whole village as archrivals. Franz is lucky that his father can testify an alibi for him, so that he is released again. Together with his friend and colleague Rudi Birkenberger they try to prove his innocence and to find the true murderer. However, there are more Problems to be solved: like Paul, his grandma's young love, or his girlfriend Susi, who pushes for marriage.

Ribnitz-Damgarten, the jewel at the coast of the Baltic Sea, is located directly at the Saaler Bodden, between Stralsund and Rostock. The town and its surrounding area are made for vacationing. This documentary from 1989 also shows the other side, like, for example, how the increasing population density and the industrial production influence the ecological balance of the region. A community for the protection of the Bodden landscape is actively making an effort for conservation. At the institute for deep-sea fishery, research about the fish population is conducted, and agriculture as well is looking for solutions to preserve an intact environment.
