Ramón Valdés é considerado por muitos, um dos melhores comediantes da América Latina. Ainda hoje, seu personagem na série El Chavo del Ocho é cultuado. É de longe o personagem mais famoso do seriado, conquistando hoje em dia ainda mais carisma do que Chaves, o personagem principal do seriado, principalmente no Brasil. O próprio Chespirito já citou em diversas entrevistas que seu personagem preferido da série e melhor comediante, é "Don Ramón", afirmando que Valdés foi o único comediante, até hoje, que já conseguiu fazê-lo chorar de rir.
Em 2010, foi lançado o livro "Seu Madruga - Vila e Obra", uma homenagem ao personagem mais adorado pelos fãs. A obra foi escrita por Pablo Kaschner, mesmo autor de "Chaves de um Sucesso", e traz curiosidades, entrevistas (com filhos de Ramón Valdés, o dublador de Don Ramon - Carlos Seidl - e até mesmo uma entrevista fictícia com Seu Madruga), ilustrações e fotos inéditas.
