Em 1348, a peste negra está atingindo brutalmente Florença, na Itália. Tentando fugir do sentimento de morte que ronda o lugar, um grupo de dez jovens, 7 mulheres e 3 homens, decide fugir para uma casa no campo, onde eles contam diversas histórias para passar o tempo, todas elas envolvendo o amor.
