Borders of Love explores not only various forms of intimacy but also ways of depicting it on the big screen, since, among others, the protagonists themselves film each other on their mobile phones. Appearing in the main roles are Matyáš Řezníček and Hana Vagnerová, who collaborated on the film’s story and script as well.

A wedding is supposed to be a joyous occasion, but things can go awry. When an uninvited guest turns up at the church and later at the reception as well, the newly-weds’ day turns sour. Shadows of the past can blight the most sumptuous of banquets and rend the most affectionate of embraces.

Haley Joel Osment (o garotinho de Inteligência Artificial e O Sexto Sentido) e Willem Dafoe (de O Homem Aranha) são os astros deste filme de guerra passado na Polônia, logo depois da invasao nazista de 1939. Haley interpreta Romek, um garoto judeu de 11 anos separado da família, pouco antes da deportação de todo o gueto para os campos de extermínio. Escondido dentro de um saco de batatas, ele é levado para um vilarejo, onde é adotado por um casal de fazendeiros. Mas Romek luta contra todas as adversidades, desde o ciúme do filho do casal ao pelotão alemão que fiscaliza o local e desconfia de sua origem. O filme é baseado num caso real.
