A couple fall deeply in love. Unfortunately, they are both already married to other people. The resulting affair leads to the man losing his job. Hyeon-Ji realizes the meaning of love, when she meets Dong-Hwa, who earns his school expenses by working as a nude model through the good offices of the professor Oh Chae-Rin. Dong-Mi earns the school expenses for her brother Dong-Hwa by massaging and practicing the finger-pressure treatment. One day, Dong-Hwa and Hyeon-Ji witness that the Hyeon-Ji's father rapes Dong-Mi. The next day, Hyun-ju leaves to return to her family and Sun-ho is left with emptiness.

Ji-hun is confused about his relationship with Da-hye. He wanders off to run into Young-ah working on the street. His relationship with Da-hye started out of sympathy about her experience of abuse. Da-hye refuses to be pitied by him and becomes engaged to another man. He seeks comforts in Young-ah and Da-hye commits suicide due to the trauma in her past. Ji-hun comes to Busan to see pregnant Young-ah but she refuses his proposal.

College student Yeon-hi meets Young-min, the executive director of a company, to receive funds for a drama play, in place of her friend Sung-gyun.. They fall in love but Yeon-hi suffers from her financial difficulty losing her job as a tutor. She moves on to Jun-Il but they are parted again for poverty. She luckily works as a tutor again and Jung-bin, her student's brother, comes home from abroad and propose to her. He goes to America and sends her an invitation but she gives up and burn the invitation out of guilt about her past.

The hostess Oh Hak-ja has not experienced true love yet. Though outwardly, Hak-ja seems to distrust men, she earnestly thirsts for love. Hak-ja tries to find true love with a young man named Ji Suk-wu but he betrays her. Promising to meet again, Suk-wu goes abroad but Hak-ja falls into despair when he doesn't return.

An overworked female executive is haunted by strange dreams. She is compelled to travel to a remote fishing village where she is inexplicably kidnapped and sold to a peasant farmer on a remote island.
