Фелино, его девушка и двое их друзей снимают свой первый полнометражный фильм на деньги, занятые у местного гангстера, но его не принимают ни на один крупный фестиваль. Фелино уговаривает свою команду добавить в титры вместо них самих известного режиссёра Томаса Гевару, который давно отошёл от кинопроизводства. Узнав о возвращении легенды кинематографа, организаторы решают устроить целую церемонию и встретить его со всеми почестями. Теперь четырём друзьям нужно разыскать маэстро Гевару, чтобы он представил свой фильм.
