Original Story
The film follows the actions of a corrupt police captain, the title-character Ángel Lugo. Lugo is responsible for the wrongful imprisonment of Mariano Farías and the murder of his pregnant wife. After 15 years in a federal prison, Farías is still determined to prove his innocence.

Adapted from the play by Roberto Ramos Perea. Mario, the prodigal son, returns to claim his inheritance, following the mandate of an appearance from the specter of his father. He does not seek money, but instead to stop the sale of the lands. Mario confronts his mother Victoria with the words of his father: "Land is not sold".
