With a cheeky, down-to-earth charm that appeals to both children and adults, the series – beginning with 'Vinnie-Pukh (1969)' – has since developed something of a cult following, and are considered by many to decisively surpass their Disney counterparts, however uneasily they may fit into the official canon. The animation itself is somewhat coarse and minimalistic, but this all adds to the charm of it all, with the story and characters coming to life as though they have just stepped out of a picture book.

After a girl's wish for all animals to have the ability to speak comes true, local robbers try to capture her talking hedgehog.

Kirpi, the vengeful practical joker finally finds a match for his habit: Tahir Yaman. Prank and revenge loop of the duo will drag them to very complicated situations.

Barney, outraged by his neighbor William Wildcat spanking his son, borrows the lad to try applying child psychology. But the boy's grasp of psychology (and explosives) is much better than Barney's.

Barney's an aviation mechanic for the Army. His plane is a cute little prop that's not only much smaller than the jets but much more anthropomorphic.

Barney is settling in for his hibernation when a squirrel spots his bedtime snack: a bowl of walnuts. The squirrel sneaks in and wakes Barney up. Barney chases out the squirrel, who proceeds to drop first the nut, then himself, down Barney's noisy tin roof.

A little hedgehog finds a magnificent apple in the woods. He rolls it behind a rock where he can enjoy it at his leisure. But there are some uninvited guests at the feast.

Barney Bear runs afoul of a foul-smelling skunk who wants to steal his berries.

Sniffles the mouse's non-stop talking foils both the burglar and a tipsy Officer Bear, who's trying to sneak past his rolling pin-toting, sleepwalking wife.
