The popular Latin rock band Maná turned off their amps for a special appearance on MTV Unplugged, and this DVD release features the group's acoustic show, along with a few extras for fans.
Some rock bands are able to live a long life. Os Paralamas de Sucesso (1981) and Barão Vermelho (1981) are among those rock monuments in Brazil. But as for Barão Vermelho, that maybe won't last for much longer… What we have is a good document and maybe even a historical document for this band. This could well be the last Barão Vermelho album… The band announced a break up after the tour that supports this MTV Ao Vivo cd set.
This DVD is the record of the concert, recorded in November 2003, at Olympia, in São Paulo, and shows the band in one of their best moments. One Live Days brings together the best of the repertoire of "Paralamas do Sucesso". The new work of the group has several special appearances. The track "Uns Dias" features the special participation of Frejat, "dueling" with Herbert on an unforgettable guitar solo. Given Villa Lobos in "What country is this?" and "Soldier of Peace", Nando Reis in "Having the Moon", Djavan in "Lantern of the Drowned" and "Uma Brasileira", and other consecrated stars.
Acústico MTV é um álbum da banda de rock brasileira Engenheiros do Hawaii, lançado em CD e DVD em Novembro de 2004. Gravado no Espaço Locall em Agosto de 2004, o disco reúne a maior parte dos sucessos da banda, como O Papa é Pop, Infinita Highway, Somos Quem Podemos Ser, entre outros; canções do projeto solo Humberto Gessinger Trio, como O Preço, Vida Real e De Fé; e músicas inéditas (Armas Químicas e Poemas, Outras Frequências e Depois de Nós). O álbum se diferencia da maior parte dos Acústicos por não incluir participações especiais, apenas "fraternais": Clara Gessinger, filha do líder Humberto Gessinger (em "Pose"), e o ex-baterista e fundador da banda, Carlos Maltz (em Depois de Nós, música de sua autoria).
There are only a few artists who are able to get away with performing the same songs over and over again. One of the best examples might be The Rolling Stones. Brazil also has a few of those selected musicians. Like Lulu Santos. Not long after his MTV Acústico project, in which he performed his major hits in the suggested acoustic setting, he's back again with another MTV live recorded album. This time with his regular tour band, and again performing some of his most successful songs. A strange phenomenon is that the acoustic hit collection sold 745,000 copies, while in no time this MTV Ao Vivo album already sold the 60,000 copies necessary to receive a gold album. Strange, because the studio album in between, the very good piece of work called Bugalu (2003), did not succeed the 51,000 figure (so far). It seems people can't get enough of listening to the songs they grew up with!

Acústico MTV é um álbum ao vivo da banda brasileira de rock Legião Urbana, lançado em 1999. No Brasil foram vendidos mais de 1 milhão de cópias e sendo premiado com Disco de Diamante pela ABPD.[1] Foi o segundo programa da série Acústico MTV no Brasil, o primeiro havia sido com a banda carioca Barão Vermelho. O show foi gravado na antiga boate Hippodromo, em São Paulo, no dia 28 de Janeiro de 1992. A banda aceitou o convite da emissora para gravar o programa, ao invés de preparar um videoclipe para a divulgação do então novo álbum, V. O show ainda destaca-se por ser o Acústico com maior simplicidade instrumental, por ser tocado com apenas dois violões e percussão.
