This short drama film follows James Powell, a college senior, who falls for Bess Gunther, played by young actress Alexa Davalos, a sophomore. However, the attractive Bess is deeply in love with F. Scott Fitzgerald, or "Scotty", as she likes to call him. The obsession leads Bess down a road James prefers not to follow. Years later, he wonders whether she's the one that got away.
A San Francisco technical writer and a San Jose artist hook up at a BDSM club, their one-night stand evolving into a tentative relationship in which they explore each other’s kinks and try to keep things casual. Writer/director Charles Lyons elicits strong performances from actors Tim Huls and Phoebe Jones as a pair comfortable with physical intimacy but hesitant to reveal emotional vulnerability.
