This exhibition is a brilliant and slightly comedic rendition of the “performative act of memory-making” (Kuhn). Narrating the past re-activates and catapults memories into the present.

A young man speaks in Danish about his mentally disabled brother. His story is simultaneously written down in English on a typewriter.
Six ans
Director
A woman is woken by a doorbell. When she gets up to answer it, there’s no one there. The next morning the entire house smells of sour milk. The hours pass. The woman’s thoughts appear as subtitles on the screen. A voice attempts to simultaneously translate these subtitles into Swedish. The voice hesitates, stumbles and sometimes fails. The gaps between thoughts and words fill the empty rooms of a small house.
Sleeping Car
Director
A narrative constructed on a train, resembling an old foreign film - subtitles, black and white images, hypnotic frames, a woman reading a letter in Swedish - where the subtitles gradually start to lead a life of their own.
