Brijes are magical animal spirits that have been in contact with human beings since the beginning of time. Every human had his brije: The human cared for his brije and vice versa. When the human turned 13 the old shamans performed the ritual a synchronizing ritual trough which the human and the brije were able to transform into the warrior form: a physical state in which the human acquired the powers of his brije and extraordinary strength needed to perform acts of heroism. Unfortunately hundreds of years ago, with the birth of modern science and technology, this union was severed and humans stopped believing in magic.

Demonios Juveniles
Director
Juvenile Devils is an assemblage of film fragments from different periods that Miguel Calderón had previously discarded. The video unveils a contin- uous editing process that gives cohesion to a series of apparently uncon- nected and fragmented images. In the artist's words, "It's an ode to the disillusionment of the 90s, to the disorientation caused by excessive tele- vision consumption that gave us the false illusion of a promising future that would never come". The piece also documents the way in which Miguel Calderón works, as he instinctively captures everyday situations and behaviors whose strange- ness often transcend socially accepted canons.
Camaleón
Director
Chameleon is an installation made up of a projection and a series of hangers-objects used by falconers to transport their falcons and on which they rest during the hunt-folded on the floor of the sals. In the film, Miguel Calderón follows the weights of Chameleon for 24 hours, a falconer who works at night as a bouncer in a bar in the south of Mexico City, and who by day goes hunting his falcon every night, with whom he has developed a relationship. Emotional bond is his closest bond with a reality far removed from the situations of extreme violence to which he has been exposed since childhood.
