Soon after Hornsby arrives at his former partner's house, Mendoza is killed by a gunman. Now Hornsby has to work together with local cop Rodriguez to find out who killed his former partner and why.

When his "job" brings him in conflict with the notorious outlaw Gus Kenneback, he has personal reasons to protect the money as Kenneback was once responsible for the death of Lanky's brother.
