Vou Rifar Meu Coração is a documentary about the performers and the followers of Brazilian romantic music – also known as brega (kitsch), often called "cheesy" by critics and the wealthy elite. Frequently associated with bad taste and poor quality, the style is admired by the lower working class, or unemployed population, originally from rural origins, banished to the cities in search of work and a better life. Using the music as a catalyst, this documentary shows the sentiments, love, suffering and sexuality of the fans and their idols, creating a scenario that reveals their practices and desires.

Benjamim Zambraia is a lonely man, a famous model with a tragic past. Some time in the past, he showed some officers the exact location where the woman he loved was hiding with her guerilla lover. As a result, the two were killed. One day, he casually meets a woman who looks very much like his former love, and this fact changes his life. Could she be the daughter of his great love? Or her reincarnation?

Bonga, his three friends and his girlfriend Loló care for abandoned children in a cave on the outskirts of a city. One day, Pedrinho runs away from home and goes to live in the cave. His father, a powerful industrial, offers a reward to anyone who brings the child back.
