Fourteen years ago, Wai Yat Ming (Ti Lung) went to the US to settle affairs for triad boss Sun (Bao Fang), but ended up in prison. Finally free again, Wai wants to start over with his girlfriend (Olivia Cheng) and adopted daughter (Fennie Yuen), but he finds it hard with Sun's feuding son and nephew, Kit (Mark Cheng) and Chong (Roy Cheung), constantly raising trouble in the gang. Seeing his own misguided past in them, Wai fruitlessly tries to guide them in the right direction. He eventually decides to make a clean break and leave Hong Kong, but Sun's sudden death pulls him back into the violence of the underworld.

Danger Has Two Faces

Martial art film standout Liang Chia-jen brings the same animalistic intensity from his early heroic bloodshed films to his Danger Has Two Faces tough, ex-cop character now relegated to becoming a pet store owner. The stern Police Superintendent Liu played by Chu Chiang sets the stage for his later role in John Woo's The Killer while new comer Fei Hsiang must do Serpico-like things to find out which cop is paid for by the mob.
Friendly Ghost
Male chauvinist Ah Wai often boasts of his wife's submission to him. He even persuades her to pretend to be obedient in the presence of his friends who are impressed. This leads to a separation when his wife's older spinster sister comes to know of it. Despondent, he moves to an old house only to find that it is haunted. The ghost and he become friends after much hassle, but when the ghost falls in love with Ah Wai's wife, believing her to be the spinster sister, a battle of life and death follows.

New Year's Eve revolves around Zhang Guo Zhu, an unfaithful husband who has revenge taken on him by Jenny Tseng in a most devious way. Please, Please Me is a comedy starring Kenny Bee and newcomer Yu Jia Xi as a cohabiting couple, who try hard to adhere to the rule that they can talk about love, but never about the responsibility of marriage. I Do, the main segment, has Alan Tang in a horror tale.
He Lives by Night
A happily married graphic designer discovers his wife's adultery with a man who dresses up in woman's white fish-net stockings. He is shocked into killing them and starts on a rampage murder. He looms at night under the disguise of a woman with an urge to kill whenever he sees a woman wearing white fish-net stockings. After killing several innocent victims, he zeroes in on a female disc jockey who hosts a midnight to dawn radio show.

Ding Dong
King Kong, a clever thief who steals a cache of diamonds from some gangsters, frames another thief called White Glove for the crime. That's when the bald detective Albert Au, who has been chasing King Kong for quite some time, pairs with the volatile female Superintendent Ho to bring him to justice. King Kong ends up joining the good guys to defeat White Glove and another bad guy dubbed Mad Max, and recover the diamonds from the hiding place where they were left by King Kong's dead accomplice.
