Foo Fei Ling

Fragment is an omnibus film celebrating the strength and diversity of South-East Asian independent cinema. Made up of a collage of ten stories, each story distinctively embraces the other's subjectivities through the collective sentiments of vulnerability and fortitude. This film is commissioned by the Asian Film Archive (AFA) for its tenth anniversary celebrations.

Father and son wrestle with love in a small Malaysian fishing village. While father looks up an old lover he should have married years ago, his son faces a dilemma. Will he choose the girl he’s in love with, or the daughter of his boss?

We often fall in love first, and then look for reasons, to justify why we love someone. To ask "why you love me?", is as silly as to ask "why you don't love me?". There is no reason, and there is no logic.

A woman on the brink of adulthood has a conversation with a world-weary older man during the course of one night.
