Pradip Mukherjee was an Indian actor and dramatist who primarily acted in Bengali movies. Although not famous for acting in loud mainstream Bengali movies, Pradip Mukherjee has received critical acclaim for his acting in movies like Satyajit Ray's Jana Aranya, Buddhadeb Dasgupta's Dooratwa and Rituparno Ghosh's Utsab. He died of pneumonia on August 29, 2022.

The Parcel
Parcel is story of a doctor couple and Nandini the female protagonist suddenly starts receiving some unanimous mysterious parcels with some of her older and recent photographs. This process creates a turbulence in their family and they go verge of terminating their marriage. Nandini tries to find out the root cause anticipating some black mailing purpose with association of her past wrong doings (As per her perception ). Its a multi-layered social story under a health system backdrop where nothing comes as explicit but a fear psychosis based on anticipation jeopardize everything.

Father of Bilu
The story of "Bilu Rakkhosh" revolves around the central protagonist "Bilu" who is a direct product of the hollow modernization the current times are going through. Bilu works in IT in a typical corporate environment, although Bilu finds himself strangled and gasping. He loves singing and always wanted to pursue his career as a singer. But he has got trapped himself within his own demons (hence the name!). Bilu is a man stuck in time. His life circles around the same circumference every day, piling up on the frustration of not being able to follow his heart. In search of an escape Bilu who rebelled to be a puppet of the reality imposed by others as he creates his own through his delusions, for Bilu albeit living with inviolable demons inside, is also a dreamer.

A Tale of a Naughty Girl
Based on a short story by Bengali writer Prafulla Roy, the central idea developed by director Dasgupta, tells the story of a girl, Lati, whose mother Rajani is a prostitute living and working in a brothel in rural India. Rajani plans to offer her daughter to an older man, a rich husband and protector to her daughter. Lati, however, wants to return to school and finish her studies. Unwilling to pay such a price for material success, she runs away to Calcutta. The discovery of this new world is described parallel to other stories of emancipation, such as that of three young prostitutes, of an aged couple going nowhere and man's n landing on the moon. In a surrealistic approach typical of the director, a clumsy cat and an intelligent donkey are also present in the film.

Disappointed in himself and in his life, he leaves his new bride and attempts to find consolation in an affair.
