John Elmes is a British actor, known for Maurice (1987), Jeeves and Wooster (1990) and The Camomile Lawn (1992). He was previously married to Caroline England.
Based on a play, the story details the dramatic negotiations between UK, France, Poland, Nazi-Germany and USSR from the day Czechoslovakia fell, until Britain's declaration of war on Germany caused by Hitler's invasion of Poland.
After his lover rejects him, a young man in early 20th century England, trapped by the oppressiveness of Edwardian society, tries to come to terms with and accept his sexuality.
