This story revolves around a spirited, carefree boy named Kazuma Harukaze, who lives with his little sister Sakura and his horse Lovely on a farm within sight of Mt. Fuji. One day, a "meteor" lands nearby, and it turns out to be Hinkeeru — a messenger from Muzanda who has come to warn Earth of a grave danger — and a robot horse named Robony.

Chika Tokorozawa, the daughter of a pet shop owner, seems unable to get away from her brave but stupid dog, Rin Tin Tin (played by famous Japanese comedian Jimmy Onishi). The story concerns four animals fighting to expel war from the earth. Though based on the "Band of Bremen (Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten)", Tezuka Osamu's fans could easily associate the story with "The Amazing Three." The cat, dog, donkey, and chicken who transform into human beings with the power of spacemen and fight to save the earth are entirely reminiscent of the three characters in the "Amazing Three" who transform themselves into animals and devote all their energies to saving the earth.
