Amber Simmons was born in Margate, Kent, England on the 2nd of June 1994. She lived there until she was eleven years old before moving to Lossiemouth, Scotland with her mother and younger brother. Amber grew up there before moving to London to work with her father and his production company where she began her film career.

The film-makers speak with locals, military, police and other media outlets to get their opinions on the crisis but it's the voices of the children which often goes unheard, so the film-makers listen to the children, and find out their views on the crisis.
