Start It Up is the story of “Jia” and “Liang,” two best friends from two different worlds. After a life-changing accident, Jia, a carefree young man who has never worked a day in his life, must learn to run his parents’ restaurant. With the help of Liang, a Chinese exchange student who wants to prove to his family that he can take care of himself, he embarks on a journey of entrepreneurial proportions, especially when the restaurant is unexpectedly taken over by a famous chef who is no stranger to Liang. The path to conquer the cooking competition is much more than an international race to create epic dishes. Together, Jia and Liang must endure a difficult learning curve and overcome obstacles as losing is not an option.
In 1949, the Communists take over mainland. The refugees and the military arrive in the Keelung Harbor in Taiwan. While the father holds secret meetings with other generals in attempt to recover the lost land, the kids still play games with their grandma who still enjoys the harmony and peace in hardship. "Black Bull and White Snake", a film version of Young Nien-ts'u's best-selling novel of the same title, is exactly about a white snake-woman, having been sold into prostitution at an early age, is rescued by a black bull of a man only to fall back into the gutter again. A production from the Grand Motion Picture Company, "Black Bull and White Snake" stars Chiang Ching and newcomer Tien Yeh.
