Alfredo León León
History
Alfredo León León is an Ecuadorian filmmaker, writer and producer. He has produced, written and directed television series, commercials, documentaries and short films including "Impulsos" that won the Audience Award at the 1st Cero Latitud Film Festival in Quito. His first film was "Mono con gallinas", and his second feature film, "Sumergible", is currently in post production.

Victor was victim of a violent attack during the government of León Febres Cordero in 1987. More than 30 years later, he decides to free himself from the weight of the secrets and ghosts that has carried for many years and speak out.

A handmade narco sub is on the verge of sinking and losing its precious cargo due to a mechanical failure. The three crew members are forced to open the forbidden cargo cabin to distribute the weight and save the ship. Next to the cargo they find a special “gift“ for the buyer: a young girl, gagged and in terrible shape. The boat, barely big enough for three to begin with, becomes a steaming powder cake of fears, desires and greed.

Casting
David and Lucia are two strangers. Once, a while back, they were not. David has always been shy; Lucia always lovely. The rest of the story is just life and its turns. one early morning, at a gas station, they meet by coincidence. The conversation will shake their certainties. Although, they are not the same people anymore, there are things that never change.

The documentary follows the classification, preparation and participation in the Olympic Games of the athletes Beatriz Pascual, Rolando Saquipay and Claudio Villanueva.

Production Manager
Jonathan and Romario are two Afro-Ecuadorian children from the Chota Valley, one of the poorest regions of Ecuador. Their fate can be one of two: to become world-class footballers like Ulises de la Cruz, Chucho Benitez and Antonio Valencia, or farmers like Darwin. This documentary reveals the lack of opportunities, discrimination, and economic and social segregation that black communities face in Ecuador.
