Éric Soubelet est un acteur français né à Valenciennes (Nord). Après l'Entrée des Artistes (cours Yves Pignot) où il connaît Albert Dupontel, il commence une carrière théâtrale aux multiples facettes : théâtre d'intervention (groupe Boal), travail de compagnies, théâtre contemporain avec Gilles Chavassieux au théâtre Les Ateliers où il participe à la création mondiale de La Sainte Europe d'Arthur Adamov. Il joue Arthur Schnitzler, Alfred de Musset, William Shakespeare... Ensuite pendant plus de dix ans il aborde le théâtre de boulevard et joue avec les têtes d'affiche du privé pour finir en tournée avec le rôle de Juste Leblanc dans Le Dîner de cons. C'est avec le journaliste Georges Malbrunot, l'un des deux rôles principaux d'Otages à Bagdad (téléfilm, 2006) que se lancera sa carrière à l'image. Il sera le père déjanté de l'héroïne dans la série Déjà vu:France TV), ce qui lui permettra de tourner en Asie (Singapour, Vietnam...) avec des acteurs de langue anglaise. Depuis il a participé à une dizaine de longs métrages et à plus de soixante téléfilms et séries. À noter son rôle de DRH dans La Note du Père Noël, sélectionné dans de plusieurs festivals.(année 2011/2012) À la fin des années 1990, il a mené une carrière sportive de haut niveau régional sur marathon (chrono record à 2h22) et réussi en 2002 le triathlon le plus dur au monde : l'Embrunman.
