History

A renowned cinematographer in the Indian Bengali film industry, Soumik Haldar (born June 1) had been intrigued by movies and the art of filmmaking ever since he was in school. Making his debut into the film industry, Soumik was associated with the 2003 Bengali action drama Raasta, following which he went on to be a part of movies like Cross Connection, Akerti Premer Golpo, Ami Aadu, Baishe Srabon, Meghe Dhaka Tara, Mishawr Rawhoshyo, Obhishopto Nighty, Chotoder Chobi, Amazon Obhijaan, Mayurakshi and Asche Abar Shabor (2018). His other releases include Total Dadagiri (2018), Uma (2018), Uronchondi (2018), Villain (2018) and Durgeshgorer Guptodhon (2019), Gumnaami (2019), Professor Shanku O El Dorado (2019), Nirontor, Dwitiyo Purush, 72 Ghanta and Hatyapuri. His 2023 releases include Bibaho Obhijaan 2 which is his 84th film.
